I will be selling off a virginia collection for a friend over the next week or so. This is a nice collection and mostly collected in the immediate charlottesville area.

This 1/6th plate ambrotype is crytsal clear as you can see, excellent clarity, condition and focus. A yankee corporal has posed seated, his nco sword at his side, the photographer had gilt in gold his belt plate and breast plate, his jacket buttons and his kepi hardware. Thsi is in a full a. P. Critchlow gutta percha case, an unusual design. The fellow looks to have american indian blood in him, perhaps cherokee, look at his facial features and i thikn you will agree. A handsome trooper in full regulation uniform with his nco sword clearly visible.
eVry slight blue tint on his trousers and jacket. A beuatiful image that commands attention. Original mat, lgass and preserver intact.
Locking mechanism works fine on case, has a few nicks in case edges. Case measures 3.75 x 3.5 with the ambrotype plate being slightly smaller. I try my best to provide detailed descriptions of each lot. If i should make a mistake and the item is not as described i will refund your purchase price in full provided you notify me by email within three days of receipt of the item.
